The Benedictine monastery in Hronský Beňadik is a monumental medieval complex founded in 1075, one of the oldest monasteries in Slovakia. The dominant feature is the Gothic church of St. Benedict with a precious relic of the Blood of Christ, donated by the Pope in the 15th century. The monastery buildings are surrounded by massive walls with watchtowers, as they also served as a fortress. This spiritual place is one of the most precious religious monuments of the region and offers a unique atmosphere of history and spirituality.
