The Kováčovské Kopce - Burda National Nature Reserve protects the unique thermophilic fauna and flora of southern Slovakia. The steep slopes of the Burda Mountains above the confluence of the Danube and the Ipl River are covered by forest stands with rare species of plants, insects and butterflies. The area is criss-crossed by hiking trails leading to viewpoints such as the popular Skaly viewpoint, which offers an impressive view of the Danube and the basilica of Esztergom. The Burda is the southernmost mountain range in Slovakia, ideal for nature lovers and easy hiking.
